GALLOP NYC - I decided to head on down to Kesington Stables just south of Prospect Park in Brooklyn to check out and hopefully help out the GALLOP folks for the afternoon. GALLOP NYC is a not for profit organization that seeks to encourage growth and rehab in disabled individuals by allowing them to ride and interact with horses. Good for people, good for our equine friends. This little guy, Marshmallow - shown here during his pre-class time goof off session where he's literally kicking up his heels and racing around, was once a lab animal. They said because he has "problems" he has become one of the favorites amongst the students. It was heartwarming and a lot of fun to help out these kids.
I will add too - something I've never seen before at any stable anywhere - a guy in a doo-rag riding english, and he was damn good too. This city is wonderful!

LANTERNS - I'm always amazed by the things that you see in NYC... most of the time it's a total surprise and this was pretty spectacular! After the Met Grotto meeting, Tony, Josh, Bob and I took a stroll through China Town to cleanse our souls with some tasty szechuan hot pot and walked right into the middle of The Sorcerer's Apprentice movie set. Yes, the one from Fantasia, where mickey mouse breaks a broom and it's terrifying multiplies flood the world with buckets of water. Apparently Disney is producing this and Nicolas Cage is the big star. This scene was magical!

YOGA WITH FRIENDS - A photo of the yoga studio... of the beautiful lotus chandelier, the wall of neatly rolled up colorful matts and the saffron colored walls would have been more fitting for this photo album, but I was too busy doing downward dog and warrior poses... funny how being in a yoga "zen" like state of being doesn't really allow me to be in a photo "zen" like focus... let me meditate on that... ommmmm

THE CYCLONE - world's best roller coaster! It's all about that first drop... (i admit - i took this last summer - wasn't much in the mood for taking photos on my first day sans office)
I highly recommend doing something outrageously fun on your first day unemployed!
